Is it Wallpaper? 

Yes essentially it is wallpaper.  While materials and printing quality has come a long way since you may have last decorated with wallpaper in essence it is the same principle.  All our murals come in panels which are 1m wide and as long as the wall is tall. Some of our wallpaper materials are actually not paper at all and have no paper backing.  This is the Canvas material and is also removable.  Visit our What Materials We Print On  for pictures of the different materials or alternatively order our material sample pack on our Custom Page. 

Installation

All our wall murals come with easy to follow DIY instructions. Each panel is 1m and is adhered to the wall utilising standard wallpaper adhesive you can purchase at your local hardware place. As we are an online store we are unable to fit your Wall mural however if you have purchased a Custom Wall Mural and would like it professionally fitted, we can certainly assist you to find a fitter in your area.  While our murals do come with DIY instructions, we cannot be responsible for any mishaps that occur during the installation process.  Even though we have done them ourselves we do still recommend a professional fit your wall mural.

The murals can be trimmed and are designed for smooth surface walls such as plastered walls.  If you have a surface like laminate that you wish to apply to then you will need to apply a coat of prep base first.  Please ask your local hardware store for the prep base suitable to your surface.

How Long WIll it Take?

If your Set Design Mural is in stock then we will courier it out to you within 2 business days so you should have your mural within 5 business days.  You may need to add a few days if you are in a remote area.  As we have so many different designs, available in different sizes we do not keep all murals in stock so you may have to pre order.  This will take around 3 weeks.

For all Custom Wall Murals please allow up to 6 weeks, depending on your editing needs and how quickly your design is finished.  There are ways we can expedite your order but still please allow at least 2 weeks for all Custom Wall Murals.

Emailing us your Image

As we need your image in its largest possible file size, it is best to email it direct to us at info@designawall.com.au rather than via the website which has file size limits.  Do not crop your image or reduce the file size to send as this will lose valuable resolution.  If the file is too large for email then we use either Winzip or Yousendit to send and receive larger file sizes.  We do not use any other programs as there are just too many for us to keep up with.  JPEG is our preferred file format or PSD (Photoshop).

We need a minimum file size of 300dpi (dots per square inch) which refers to the level of detail in the image.  This does not necessarily relate to MB however the higher the MB file size the better.  Vector images do not need to be any higher than 300dpi as there is no loss of resolution on enlargement.  Photos are different and need to be as big a file as possible.  Please be aware that images taken from the internet are subject to copyright and are in most cases not suitable for wall murals due to their file size.  Design A Wall Murals will not source these images or any images subject to copyright.  All images provided to us are assumed to be obtained using the correct channels and Design A Wall Murals is not responsible for the use of images after they have been printed.  All copyright responsibilities belong to the provider of the image.

Postage and Handling 

Wall murals are sent in a tube via courier and we support our local couriers as best we can.  As soon as your item has been sent you will be notified of a tracking number so you can follow the progress of your shipment.  You will need to provide an actual residential or work address as couriers need a signature on delivery.  Please no Post office box addresses.  When you receive your package you will need to check that there is no obvious signs of damage before you sign.  If there is any obvious damage that appears to have also damaged the wall mural do not sign and phone us immediately on 1300 821528.  Once you have signed for the package we have no recourse for a claim against the courier company.  

Wall Buddies removable wall stickers are sent via Australia Post standard mail.  If you wish to upgrade your postage to Registered or Express let us know and we will endeavour to do this for you. Any additional costs this incurrs will be at the expense of the customer.  If you purchase more than one pack of  Wall Buddies we can combine shipping which will be much cheaper for you.  We do not make any profit from shipping.

Why is the item not in stock?

Our aim at Design A Wall Murals is to provide you with a very high quality product so a majority of our items are printed to order.  Due to the high amount of images we have and customisable options we only keep a select few in stock which we update regularly.  If your mural is in stock it will be sent out with our couriers within 2-3 business days.  If the item is not in stock we will notify you and advise of the time frame.  This is usually takes about 3 weeks so please keep this in mind when placing your order.  All removable wall stickers are kept in stock unless otherwise sold out. 

What if I need my mural sooner?

If you have a deadline to make and would like your mural sooner then let us know.  For a fee we can expedite your order down to approximately 2 weeks.  Please remember that printing takes between 3-7 days depending on the size of the mural and the material you use.

Can I get a sample?

Sure, you can purchase a sample pack from either our Custom Murals page or our Set Design Murals page. This offers you a swatch of each material we use so you can make a more informed decision. The small fee we charge is to cover materials and postage.

Why is there a minimum size requirement for Custom Murals?

Here at Design A Wall Murals our specialty is wall murals.  For our product to qualify as a wall mural it needs to be of a minimum size which is 4sqm.  This can be any combination of measurements for example 2m x 2m or 4m x 1m.  You can certainly trim the mural to fit your needs or email us for more information.  

Colour Variations

Due to the variations in media, programs, printers , different batches and each individual setting on computers, there is always variation in colour when printing murals.  Unfortunately this cannot be avoided so please take this into account if you are colour matching.
